To [expletive] rocking harder.
Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I am under the impression that when a band plays at a club live—and they are good and you KNOW some of the members—the most excellent thing you can do is rock out and whoop so they know you freaking love the music.
We were the loud, yelling, whooping, thrashing foreigners in the club today (what is up with the lack of energy, live comrades?!)....

A birthday and a Powerpoint
Yesterday was my friend’s birthday, so of course we celebrated in Extreme Style by eating a lot of tonkatsu and then drinking to match. It was good. Translating our crass English language jokes for our Japanese compadres was kind of a hilarious success. And did I mention there was delicious cake? Cake makes anything a success, I think (though certainly not as much as a Japanese-style parfait...

Car car car? Cardy car-car! ....Car car.
Guys, I am so excited to get a car.
I rode my bike to a different school this morning, and it was pretty horrible. The way there was mostly uphill, and the steepest part of the hill also happened to be covered in ice. So I walked it… which unfortunately did not really help because I have the stamina of an elf suffering from muscular dystrophy who is hooked up to a respirator.
All the while...

Okay, but seriously, folks…
I am a liberal, skeptical atheist. My morals are based on the betterment of society/mankind, I question everything that carries a scent of bias, and I do not place ANYTHING higher in importance and knowledge than my fellow humans.
I think an important part of friendship is sharing ideas and bettering each other in the process… so I will tell my friends...

NEW LIFE GOAL
I will stop posting comments to public online discussions that I will later regret. (I’m sorry, Corey… the way of the troll is not for me.)
I sometimes get the urge to reply to a comment thread on a blog to make the discussion more balanced (i.e. add my own 2 cents because it’s really that important and the internets really should care about it). Then, having done so and hitting...
Public speaking tip
kxj:
If you tend to say “um” or “like” while standing and speaking in front of people, take a breath each time instead.
Agreed. And if you are classy enough to have a cup/bottle of water when you speak, you can also take a fake sip (unless you need a real sip).
What not to do is to fill the awkward moments with snarky comments, which is what I used to do in college because I’d always show...

In which I am chastised for taking turns too...
This officially marks my graduation from driving school. YES!!
Of course, this was the easy part. The hard part is passing the written exam, which is a great show of how well one is able to memorize information too dense to access in the split seconds one has while driving. We are, in fact, being tested on how theoretically well we will drive AFTER we were tested on how well we actually drive.
