Dear iMovie 08, I hate you.
If only my computer with iMovie 06 wasn’t in CHINA. I’ve heard rumors of someone beating the useful out of iMovie 08, but didn’t REALLY believe it until now.
So I don’t have a DV camera, but I’ve got all these AVI files I’ve captured. iMovie 08 makes my life simpler here by totally refusing to import these files so that I don’t have to do any video...

Getting EasyCap to work in Windows XP
What’s an EasyCap? It’s a cheap USB video capture device that is often found being sold on eBay. It is SUPPOSEDLY Mac and Windows compatible, but a LOT of people have trouble getting video and/or sound to work and so it has earned the alternate name of “EasyCrap.” Well, I was not about to let my $25 go to waste, so I had to wrestle this thing into working order.

Wii Homebrew Channel test
As per this helpful install guide, I just installed the Wii Homebrew Channel and took it for a test run (install wiki with the file). The install kit comes with 3 things: an emulator for something I’ve never heard of, Quake, and Tetris. Now what?
The Stevenote the other day wasn’t too exciting for me, so I went and bought my long-awaited upgrade laptop, the 15” Macbook Pro… and an iPod Touch.
