Preparations for being clothed in Japan
I leave for Japan THIS SATURDAY and will be living there for at least a year. Instead of packing every single item of clothing I own, I’ll just be bringing a few essentials and buying most of my stuff there (I am a tiny Asian, so I figure finding clothes in Japan will be easier than finding clothes in the US). So here’s a list of places (that my mom got from one of her internet...

RAIN
…Not the Korean popstar. I mean the actual meterological phenomenon. It’s pouring the heck out at this very moment, which made me realize that in a few short weeks, I will have to go to work everyday, even when weather looks like this. …ON A BICYCLE. This just means one thing: RAIN PANTS. I leave you with that thought.

A wise person climbs fuji-san once, a fool twice.
kxj: Then, the last push to the top. This is where it got progressively more painful because there ends up being a queue on the way up for the last 2 hours due to all the tour groups. And so we shuffled and climbed along and started to feel the effects of altitude around 3,500m. Then Fuji-san decided he would make it RAIN, and not just typical rain but cold coupled with every-which-way blowing...

My PowerBook does not want to live, apparently
THIS JUST IN FROM CHINA: My PowerBook’s logic board is broken… AGAIN! My mom’s been using it on her trip in China… what a time for it to fail! It might not yet be time to revise that MacService review, but I’ll certainly reconsider once this is all sorted out (they have a 6 month warranty on logic boards! Yay!).

Blasphemy, ahoy! (You have been warned)
As a happy blasphemer with little to no standards, I’m a fan of the mind-sucking inanity of LOL[whatever] sites, but LOLJesus seems to be leading the pack in their slow downward spiral into the land of Not Funny Anymore. See, LOL macros don’t need much to be funny: a short and simple phrase, some vaudevillian comedy, and weird mispellings as if being typed by a cheeseburger-loving cat...

How to meet Asian women
Apparently, there is a book entitled Better Than Money: A Guide to Meeting Asian Women. Unsurprisingly, it educates presumably culturally-insensitive white guys on how to meet Asian women. The website is very careful to sound respectful towards Asian women and even gives separate Asian groups their own dues. I just don’t get how the author would be so careful with the website and miss the...

Comcast on Twitter
Well, this is a cool use of Twitter… karmcity: So, remember all my Comcast woes? Well, complete suckage they are not. Comcast controls a user account on Twitter called “comcastcares” where a support rep continually monitors tweets people send to it and fixes problems if necessary. I typed: @comcastcares:5 months of you agreeing that I don’t owe you money, but still sending me bills. How...

Less is funnier
Me: a quick way to help resuscitate an unfunny comic strip is to cover up the last frame and read it again
Me: usually, it sounds funnier
Corey: lol
Corey: that makes sense
Corey: too bad the family circus is a one panel comic. but still covering it up is better for humanity anyway
