Should I be practicing my rapping?
Another slow day at the office. I had no classes, yet again. It was raining, yet again. One of the younger teachers just approached me and asked me what my favorite Rip Slyme song is. Having obtained said information, he returned to chat with a few other of the younger male teachers. I have a feeling it’s going to turn up if we ever go karaokeing. We get these announcements of crimes that...
Hay sup
I’m at work and I have no classes today. Which means I’ve finally caught up with news… or whatever I was bored enough to read (Obiden ticket?! How the hell did I miss that?!! …Oh yeah, I’m in Japan). It’s raining today… with wind. I was silly and rode my bike while it wasn’t raining that hard. It was freaking POURING a little while ago. Hope it lets...
Finally, a sane discussion about Tibet →
Uhh when was the last time I posted again?
I guess it was Friday! Okay, not bad! (Shout out to Aimee, btw: Happy belated birthday!!)
Friday night, I went to see my school’s teacher hockey team play… and lose horrible. It was magnificently hilarious. One of my English teachers asked me to join. I suck at skating fast, but after watching them play, I think I may actually be of help (with a little practice… GOOOOOOO...
First class today!
It was pretty fun! Showed a slideshow of myself and did some really dinky test prep. The kids spoke better English than I thought… helps to have extreeeemely low standards.
The bottom line is the bottom line

Dan on McCain’s response to “What does your faith mean to you?” during the Saddleback interview:
McCain’s entire statement of faith essentially boils down to one story about when he was a prisoner of war. It’s a pretty touching story. One of his captors was unexpectedly kind to him. Later, on Christmas Day, when the prisoners were let out to stand for a few minutes in the...

One small step for internet connectivity...
I finally have internet at my desk! Woot!
Still don’t have it at home… but I don’t have a bank account either. I guess that will all be NEXT week, because the lady who said she’d do my bank account stuff hasn’t been in. Bleah. Oh well! I should have a way to get back from Sapporo next week, at least. That’s all I need for now.
Apparently, Rip Slyme was in...
Work is awkward.

How awkward? You will just have to ask.
I ask: HOW AWKWARD?
Is it as awkward as mine? I BET NOT! (I don’t know their language, dangit!!)
Rainy day blues
It’s raining today, but not much, so I rode my bike to school. Wore a poncho and didn’t really get wet. Didn’t have to whip out the rain pants.
Started working on a big picture book thing for my self introductions. Figure I could stick photos and stuff in there too. All the materials were cheaply gotten from the 100 yen store, and I have nothing better to do anyway.
It seems I...

Another thrilling day in the office
So until school starts, I do a whole lot of NOTHING in the office. Started reading Natsume Souseki’s Botchan… organized my photos… yeeeah.
I got my hanko today, though! It’s a little stamp that is the equivalent of a signature. Now I need to find a fancy little pouch and a tiny ink pad for it. Anyway, I’m all set to get a bank account now. Then I can get direct...
Also, Facebook does not work for me here
Just so people know, I can’t use Facebook here in the office, and I don’t have the internet at home (yet), so that basically means I can’t use Facebook period. I can view people’s messages to me and stuff, but I can’t respond at all because none of the freaking text boxes work (goddamned AJAX can go jump off a cliff).
Yeeeeah… so no one try to Facebook me....

Oh FINE...
Because SOMEONE thinks I should mention everything that ever happened EVER: we also ate at this place called JiZi over the weekend. They had hamburgers. Apparently, a hamburgER in Japan has the bread, but a hamburg (sans the “er”) is just a meat loaf. But it was delicious. Mine was covered in kimchi (but really mild stuff, because Japan can’t handle it legit). Some far more...

Weekend recap
So I was going to go to Sapporo this past weekend… it didn’t happen, but I did some fun stuff around town anyway.
The most eventful, uh, event was probably the World Saury Throwing Tournament. Saury (or sanma in Japanese) is this type of fish I had never heard of before, and some local guys organized a tournament to see how long they could chuck said fish. One of the veteran JETs in...

I'm in Kushiro!
I made it to my new home away from home the day before yesterday! It’s totally freaking sweetness in a bucket of awesome… with a brass band playing in the background.
My new apartment is really nice (got it on video, but my computer can’t get on the internet to upload it). The people here are all impressed that I can actually speak Japanese already (though I still suck at...

At the precipice of ZOMG!!1
I leave for Japan in 7 hours and 14 minutes! That’s 8:00am, but I have to be at the airport at 5:00am. The plan is to just not sleep until I get on a plane, so hopefully, I will conk out immediately upon take-off and not have any jet-lag on the other side of the world.
I’ve somehow got my life down to around 90 lbs across 3 bags. My house is now in a total state of disarray, since I...
