Awesome.
This better be a parody or I will be seriously...
Exhibit A: “Shuchishin” (“Shyness” or “Shame”), a somewhat popular song here in Japan.
Exhibit B: “Hisoukan” (“Patheticness”), which I really really hope is a parody because that would make it the most awesome thing ever since it is now MORE POPULAR on the music charts than Exhibit A.

The money quote (so to speak):
Yeah. Pennies. In the middle of the financial implosion, we’re worrying about what the pennies look like.

FINALLY have internet access at home! So of course, I went and l got all the episodes of Project Runway that I’ve missed. Japanese ADSL seems to work just as well as my Comcast broadband back home.
Went to the most awesome buffet ever today. You could cook your own meat at your table AND there was soooo much delicious food otherwise… and a fricking giant chocolate fountain.

And in case you were wondering, it felt like being on a cruise ship… you could definitely feel the ground move if you were standing and I was a bit nauseated for a few seconds.

I HAVE SOMETHING TO DO AFTER SCHOOL
I’m going to play badminton with the badminton club.
I couldn’t tell if the teachers who are advising the club were serious or not, but I may or may not have to buy someone juice if I lose. I am not athletic nor am I good at badminton… this’ll be interesting.

The theory of childhood, also known as child origin, is a damnable, loathsome and indefensible lie. How can any thinking person suppose all humans used to be babies once? There is no development path from babies to adults, no transitional forms between these two species. Show me even one baby with the head of a grown man on his body. Can you? No? Not even a bearded toddler? No adults with...
The This Week in Tech episode I’m listening to made me realize how backwards cellphones are back in the States. My cell goes online, sends real email, has real GPS, has a 2mp cam, is 3G, does flawless over-the-air downloads and upgrades, and recieves free digital TV. And my monthly plan is $30/mth. …I just can’t make that many voice calls :(

The word of the day is "sunemono"
“Sunemono” means (according to my dictionary) “perverse individual, cynic, misanthrope” and I THINK it’s what the teachers around me have taken to calling me. Not that it’s not totally on the mark or anything, but it’s a bit early in our relationship for them to know I’m actually a cynical old man. I blame this on Hannah Montana (see image two posts...

I just showed a few of the other teachers in the office that picture… I don’t think they ever want to ask me what I’m laughing at ever again.
