Word to my city …and libraries.

I love Boston. Especially when the weather is not doing this making-humanity-all-miserable thing it so likes to do.

I had to make a day-trip there today to look up a certain ancient Chinese art object in the MFA and Boston Public Libraries. Got myself a shiny new BPL card in the process. I feel that happy geek warmth that only a new, bright orange library card can bring.

So apparently, the MFA’s library has moved down the street to the Horticultural Society Building. I unfortunately did NOT know this until I paid $15 to get into the actual MFA. So to make up for it, I took about 100 pictures right then and there (of my Chinese art object, from basically every conceivable angle. Twice). Well, at least I now can get into the MFA library for free… if I ever again have a reason to go there (probably not).

I also ventured into the BPL fine art stacks for the first time today. It overlooks a lovely courtyard that I had no idea existed. I made the librarian bring out about 20 lbs of books, most of which were full of Buddha. I had no idea what I was getting into.

Okay, that’s about it. Back to work.
