The repair saga begins…
Not that anyone cares, but I have very little going on in my life right now (unless you want to hear about my progress on my three final papers).
So I’ve shopped around a bit for quotes on logic board replacements for my PowerBook. PowerBook Medic and the PowerBook Guy gave ballpark quotes that landed well outside the Green Monster and started bouncing off cars in the $600-700 lot. Meanwhile, MacService has a $495 option with a 10% off deal for students (that’s $445, bottom line)… AND they have free two-way shipping.
Of course, it has a few bad reviews, but all the shiny good reviews make me think it won’t be too much of a risk (besides, a pretty vital part of my computer needs replacing, so the worst they can do is better prepare the computer to be eBayed).
Now all I have to do is wipe the hard drive (always practice data security!) while I wait for the box to get here…
