Friday is Atheist Pride Day! (Friendly Atheist)
Organizer Neil Moakley is urging atheist facebook users to change their profile pictures to the scarlet A (the adopted symbol of the atheist out movement… a pretty fug logo, in my opinion) and to update their status with something about atheism THIS FRIDAY, the 20th.
I’m debating whether or not to do this. My immediate reaction was “that’s not something I want to flaunt to everyone on my friend list”… but after some thought, maybe I WILL do it… if only because I want to share a great humanist/atheist quote as my status. Now I just have to decide on which quote to use… (Thomas Jefferson, Pearl S. Buck, Albert Einstein, Emily Dickinson… just too many good utterers of applicable quotes!)
